The Tejas train, which will run at a maximum speed of 200 kmph, may replace the double-decker train now operated between Mumbai and Goa. The train was revealed to the public in Mumbai on Sunday. Sources said that the hard terrain in the rains may pose to be a hurdle.

Railway minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off India's first high-speed train, the Tejas Express, from Chatrapati Shivaji Station on Monday.

The first run will begin soon after the inauguration and is expected to build traction by June.
