NCAA baseball regional sites spread among 7 conferences

"There's no doubt in mind our resume is built where it's supposed to be to be one of those 16 hosts".

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Sixteen teams representing seven conferences will host regionals in the NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The Razorbacks will learn their opening-game opponent, as well as the two other regional teams, during the NCAA's tournament selection show today at 11 a.m. (ESPN2). From the SEC, Florida (42-16), LSU (43-17), Kentucky (39-20) and Arkansas (42-17) will all host.

The NCAA regional is returning to Baum Stadium for the first time since 2010.

Houston (40-19), which won the American Athletic Conference Tournament and shared the AAC regular-season title, will play a home regional for the second time in three years.

By virtue of being awarded a regional, all 16 host institutions have also been selected to the 64-team field. It could start Thursday, June 1 if BYU is selected to play in the Clemson Regional. The rest of the field, including the top eight national seeds, and pairings will be announced Monday.

The 15 other regional sites: Baton Rouge, La., Chapel Hill, N.C., Clemson, S.C., Corvallis, Ore., Fayetteville, Ark., Fort Worth, Texas; Hattiesburg, Miss.; Houston; Lexington, Ky., Long Beach, Calif.; Louisville, Ky., Lubbock, Texas; Stanford, Calif.; Tallahassee; and Winston-Salem, N.C.

The drivers have the day off today before tomorrow's all important qualifying on a track were it is nearly impossible to overtake. Bottas accepted that Mercedes went in the "wrong direction" in terms of set-up. "We had two smooth sessions", Raikkonen said.

Season ticket holders and Red Raider Club members have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to request all-session tickets to the regional, according to a Texas Tech press release.

Under the direction of Tadlock, Texas Tech has built a perennial powerhouse baseball program that has, arguably, earned a national seed thanks to its regular season résumé.

Each regional field features four teams, playing a double-elimination format.

The full tournament bracket will be released Monday at noon on ESPNU.

As a regional host, UH (40-19) - victor of the automatic bid from the American Athletic Conference - is guaranteed home-field advantage at least through the first round of the postseason.
