The main event of the UFC's stop in Auckland, New Zealand, occurred at heavyweight, where MMA legend Mark Hunt collided with streaking American contender Derrick Lewis.

The UFC Auckland main event between Derrick Lewis and Mark Hunt wasn't expected to go the distance, and it didn't.

Later in the press conference, Hunt, who picked up the US$50,000 ($69,000) Fight of the Night bonus, said he wanted to continue to test himself against the elite of the division before retiring when his contract expires in three-fights' time.

The attendance in Auckland was announce at 8,649 for a live gate of nearly $830,000 USA dollars. "I know Derrick Lewis is from the hood, but this is my hood". Lewis claimed Browne "beat" his former spouse, despite the allegations going unconfirmed after "inconclusive evidence".

On a six fight win streak heading into the fight, Derrick Lewis was in the frame for a title-shot with a win, but gassed badly before the late stoppage. Despite being 11 years younger, Lewis appeared exhausted as early as the second round, placing his hands on his hips and leaving his chin exposed high. He can use his strength to keep Hunt against the cage and grind him out with dirty boxing. The body shots Hunt landed on Lewis really started to add up from the third round on.

But that mattered little to Hunt (13-11-1, 1NC), who got better as the fight wore on before landing a series of punches that forced the referee to step in 3mins 51s into the fourth round.
