"We'll be conducting more missile tests on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis", Vice Foreign Minister Han Song Ryol said at the time.

The Security Council voted unanimously on June 2 to add 15 individuals and four entities linked to North Korea's nuclear and missile programmes to a United Nations sanctions blacklist.

"If Japan is concerned about its security, it should not act (as) a poodle of the US but withdraw its hostile policy toward the DPRK and remove the USA military bases for aggression from its territory", a spokesman for the North's National Peace Committee of Korea was quoted by KCNA as saying Wednesday.

Seoul said it would delay the installation of remaining components of the THAAD anti-missile system until it completes an assessment of the system's environmental impact.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said during a press briefing that President Trump had discussed the Korean situation with the Defense Secretary and Secretary of State.

Japan has been at the forefront in seeking further sanctions to rein in the North's nuclear and missile ambitions.

"The drone found this time looks sloppy but slightly more slender than previous ones", a South Korean military official told Reuters.

Moon said after the new launches that his government "won't back off even a single step and make any compromise" on the issue of national security.

The type of anti-ship cruise missile that North Korea tested on June 9 is created to fly at a low altitude, making it a potent weapon against ships. The missiles were tested on Thursday.
