The duo met for the first time yesterday at the Staples Center in Las Vegas with both involved in heated exchanges.

CONOR MCGREGOR'S coach John Kavanagh says Floyd Mayweather should "stop lying" about his ability to face the UFC superstar in the Octagon.

After that press conference, McGregor had a quick interview with Jimmy Kimmel's Guillermo in a segment that aired Wednesday night.

He also hit out at his dress code once again. 28 years of age. "Look at you, you little [expletive] weasel", McGregor said to Espinoza. "I've known you for 21 years".

When that didn't happen - coupled with the microphone that failed him mid-press conference - McGregor seemed irritated, which is not his typical setting where it's his opponents who are frustrated, fumbling over words and almost frothing at the mouth with anger.

"You do something with that flag, I'll f-k you up", McGregor said.

In fact, Mayweather, who retired in 2015 with a record of 49-0 win-loss, had said: "If I came back, of course, it would have to be a nine-figure payday".

After going non-stop for six minutes, McGregor waved off attempts for him to wrap it up - "I'm not getting off this mic!"

Many on social media and elsewhere criticised McGregor for his seemingly racial comment.

The third of four consecutive behind-the-microphone meetings ahead of fight week, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will square off for their next official press conference at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. They'll do that then pack up their bags and jump on private jets to the next stop because there's more rock n' roll to be played and that's what Mick and Keith do.

In an interview with TMZ, Mayweather downplayed the comment, saying, "We all know there's only 2 types of boys - a white boy and a cowboy - and I'm neither". The Irishman menacingly chewed his gum in an effort to intimidate his opponent but Mayweather remained stone-faced and never once took his gaze off of McGregor.

"What are you doing with a school bag on stage", McGregor added.

And while the combo of Mayweather and McGregor are younger, more agile and quantifiably more handsome than Jagger and Richards, the guarantee of entertainment complete with the potential for a backstage boxing match is always on the table.
