Brides across the country are being stood up at the store entrance.

I Do, I Do Bridal in Gaithersburg, Maryland, said they heard all about this from a bride and their customers are also left in limbo.

Brides are scrambling for information and dresses amid rumors that one of the largest manufacturers and retailers of bridal gowns is closing for good.

Bride-to-be Nicole Gross was able to pick up her gown, but some people are not as lucky. They operated 60 signature stores nationally and offered an exclusive Disney-inspired wedding dress. However, the phone call surprised her, as the dress was there way early.

Another soon-to-be bride, Ericka Puccio, told Eyewitness News that she has two of her five bridesmaid dresses.

"I'm super irritated about it", The Lincoln woman said.

She found out all about this while watching FOX 5 News at the gym Thursday evening and immediately headed over to the Springfield store. "Young ladies have already ordered their gowns and some of them have gotten calls that they're canceled", said Beverly Showell, the mother of a bride-to-be.

M&S investors spooked by slowdown in food sales
M&S said that the timing of Easter this year lifted food sales by 0.7% and clothing and home trade by 0.6% in the quarter. In November, M&S said it would close 60 clothing and home stores to build a "sustainable business".

LPD said it did not make any arrests. And as social media buzzed of a rumored bankruptcy, the bridal retailer remained silent.

Some rushed to the store - some driving an hour or more - to pick up their dress - and others anxiously waited in line to ask about their garment - only to be told no one knows what is happening.

But when she showed up Thursday, she said, "They can't give me any info but a lawyer's number".

The manager at the Miamisburg location confirms her store is closing today, but will remain open at least until 8 p.m. One of them said it. "I'm also anxious about my bridesmaids". However, other customers were told to contact Alfred Angelo's bankruptcy attorneys to know about procedures to get a full refund. "All were paid for".

Other bridal shops are stepping in to help former Alfred Angelo customers.

The company's store in Sunrise was closed Thursday night and had a sign in the window directing customers to call a law firm and in Coral Gables store employees would not comment, WFOR-Ch.
