Police said 86-year-old Doris Payne was taken into custody at the Chamblee Tucker Road location after a loss prevention officer spotted Payne stuffing items from the pharmacy department into her purse.

Police said Doris Payne was arrested Monday for allegedly shoplifting at a Walmart in Atlanta.

Her criminal career spans at least two continents and five decades. Payne claims that she didn't have a basket and dropped the items in a shopping bag.

Payne, known for her global jewel heists spanning six decades, claimed that she forgot to pay for the items she had shoplifted after taking medicine.

Payne was observed by a Walmart employee as she reportedly concealed items in her purse and a Walmart shopping bag before going to the check-out line, where she only paid for a few items remaining in her cart.

Observers said the 7,186,170 votes for the opposition insides Venezuela and overseas was an impressive show of support. Venezuela, which has more oil than any other country in the world, was once the richest country in Latin America.

All of the items were returned to the store, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She had been on probation at the time of her arrest for jewelry theft at another Atlanta mall in 2014. During that incident, she attempted to steal a diamond necklace from a department store. A documentary called "The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne" is now available on Netflix.

Payne, who is estimated to have stolen $2 million in jewelry during her lifetime, said she is negotiating a book and movie deal about her life.

Payne's advanced age and diminutive appearance betray her smarts.
