WhatsApp has revealed that its 1 billion active daily users send over 55 billion messages per day, 4.5 billion photos, and 1 billion videos. At that time the messaging service had 450 million monthly users and, daily monthly users were at 350 million.

Asked yesterday by an analyst about WhatsApp's revenue prospects compared to Messenger, Facebook's CFO, David Wehner, said the company isn't sharing detailed engagement figures by messaging platform, but noted differences in usage for each by region.
