The poll's findings also mark a new high for the president's disapproval rating, which now stands at 61 percent of voters.

Most Americans believe transgender people should be allowed to serve in the US military, according to a new poll.

On top of that, 50% of all respondents said they strongly disapprove of Trump while just 25% said they strongly approve.

The June 14 New Jersey poll found Murphy buries Guadagno 2-1 in governor race; Christie, Trump approval ratings drop to historic lows.

In addition to those figures, 54 percent of voters surveyed say they're embarrassed by Trump compared to the 26 percent that say that they feel proud.

They disapproved 60 percent to 32 percent.

However, the pollster said large percentages of those who were surveyed said they do not think Trump is honest, that he does not have "good leadership skills", that he "does not care about average Americans", and that he "does not share their values".

An ABC News/Washington Post poll, released in mid-July, showed Trump's six-month approval rating was the lowest of any president in 70 years.

But the important thing here is not so much the latest readout as the trend in this polling.

The startling polling results come after two of the more hectic weeks at the White House since Trump was inaugurated. The findings come after President Donald Trump chose to bar transgender people from military service.

This goes with a separate poll by Reuters and Ipsos from last week, which found that 58 percent of U.S. adults agree trans people should be allowed to serve in the military, while 27 percent disagreed.

The May 10 national poll found USA voters send Trump approval to near record low; no victor in media war, but voters trust media more.

The poll also gauged opinion on how members of Congress are dealing with the Affordable Care Act.
