Wenger lauds Giroud as Arsenal beat Leicester 4-3

Arsenal host Leicester City on Friday night, marking the first time in league history the season's first match won't be played on a Saturday.

Olivier Giroud came off the bench to head a late victor after Aaron Ramsey had brought Arsenal level at 3-3 following a Jamie Vardy double for the visitors.

"There's a lot that Arsenal need to do and I think Wenger still has transfer business to do".

Arsene Wenger has been the coach of Arsenal for about 21-years and just recently signed a 2-years contract extension at the beginning of the transfer window, after many had speculated his exit away from the club.

Arsenal looked a beaten team when Leicester led 3-2 early in the second half after Vardy grabbed his second goal before the substitutions gave them new vigour in attack.

Since the start of last season, Giroud has scored seven Premier League goals coming off the bench - three more than any other player in the same period.

The forward's header was too accurate for Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and landed right into the corner of the Foxes net. He got on the end of an excellent cross from Mohamed Elneny to stun the visitors with his second touch of the game.

Jamie Vardy and Marc Albrighton stretched the defence all game and that paid off yet again when the latter found Vardy with a brilliant cross.

She's very fragile right now". "I just don't feel like I belong here anymore". Jemma doesn't seem convinced by Sarah's vague answers, stating: 'So yeah'.

Honestly, you could not have asked for more to open the Premier League season for the 2017-18 campaign. Harry Maguire, another debutant, headed the ball back in for his new team-mate who beat Granit Xhaka to head home easily.

Meanwhile, Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare has a few pressing injury concerns to deal with as well and he will be travelling to North London without Danny Drinkwater, Vincent Iborra and Robert Huth.

Olivier Giroud found the victor for Arsenal late on.

Since the start of 2014/15, of players who have scored at least 20 goals in that time, only Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane have a better strike rate.

Arsenal were caught in possession on the left once again minutes later and Okazaki nearly doubled his tally but headed narrowly wide.

After a much-needed break for all involved to take a deep breath, the second half started in much quieter fashion until ten minutes into the second period.

"Yes", Wenger said in July, as quoted by The Daily Telegraph.
