A fifth convict, Riyaz Siddiqui, was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

A TADA Court had found Abu Salem and others guilty of terrorist acts back in June 2016. The court had concluded hearing on the punishment to be awarded to the convicts on 10th of last month. Abu Salem and Karimullah Khan got lifetime imprisonment, Feroz Khan, and Tahir Merchant were given death sentence while Riyaz Siddiqui was given ten years imprisonment. However, Dossa, one of the masterminds of the conspiracy (apart from absconding accused Dawood Ibrahim, Tiger Memon and others) died of cardiac arrest on 28 June. However, according to reports from The Telegraph a Portugal court had stated that Salem can not be given a death sentence and this is the reason that he escaped death penalty while the quantum of punishment was being announced in the special TADA court.
