On Friday (September 8), the music icon made a surprise appearance at the George R. Brown Convention Center, where almost 1,600 Hurricane Harvey evacuees are now gathered. "She brought smiles and hugs", an eyewitness shared with E!News.

As previously reported, Jackson postponed her Unbreakable World Tour in May 2016 when she announced she was expecting.

Her upbeat hits are still on the set list, including Billboard Hot 100 #1 tracks such as All For You, Miss You Much and That's The Way Love Goes.

According to KHOU.com, Janet was accompanied by her brother, Randy, and Houston Mayer Sylvester Turner as she toured the facility.

She wrote in her caption: 'Hey u guys. "I was just so surprised, shocked that I didn't have a black out from being so excited". We r in rehearsal mode. I'm here to tell you that we are doing the show in Houston. My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour'.

"As we visit shelters here in Houston, our thoughts are with those affected by the quake in Mexico, H.Irma & storms in S. Asia & Africa" she captioned a video on Instagram after her visit.

Janet Jackson is back like she never left as she made her return to the stage since giving birth to son, Eissa, in January - but it's her wonderful post-baby body that got people talking. Jackson broke her silence about the split in May. One reporter says in the clip, "Between 2001 and now, we've seen three times more deaths caused by right-wing extremists than Islamic terrorists". We are in court and the rest is in God's hands'.
