Jimmy Nelson to miss remainder of 2017 season

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to complete the sweep of the Cubs after dismantling Chicago by a final score of 15-2 on Saturday. Braun is 4-for-9 with a homer versus Montgomery, who is 1-3 with a 5.11 ERA in 10 outings (three starts) against the Cubs.

The Brewers will be without perhaps their most reliable starting pitcher as they make a last-ditch run at a playoff spot.

Nelson's 2017 season represents a significant improvement on his performance in 2016, a season in which he went 8-16 with a 4.62 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP and 186 strikeouts.

With four doubles at Pittsburgh earlier this week, Kris Bryant became just the second third baseman all-time to record at least 60 extra-base hits in each of his three career Major League Baseball seasons (based on primary position in first three seasons). Then they turn around and get swept by the Cincinnati Reds. The only run allowed came in the first on a Neil Walker home run.

Costa Rica vs Mexico World Cup Qualifying Match Preview
Costa Rica will continue its effort to clinch a World Cup spot with a match against Honduras at the National Stadium on October 6. Were there three defenders in the game? Two? The United States suffered a 0-2 loss to Costa Rica in the previous game.

Jimmy Nelson tossed five shutout innings and improved to 12-and-6 before leaving the game with a sore arm.

In my eyes, the pitching matchup is even, so with that cancelling out, the Brewers have outplayed the Cubs I the first two games of the set and need these wins much more than the Cubs do.

The Cubs have won each of John Lackey's last six starts versus NL Central division rivals, including a July 30 start at Milwaukee. So with that said, I'll take a shot with the Brewers behind a strong outing from Davies here.
