Unlike Oxlade-Chamberlain, who managed to secure a transfer from Arsenal, three stars of the league - Alexis Sanchez, Philippe Coutinho and Riyad Mahrez - failed to get the moves they wanted on the final day of Europe's transfer window last week.

Oxlade-Chamberlain opted against extending his contract at The Emirates and signed a long-term deal with Liverpool as he became Jurgen Klopp's latest signing at Anfield.

However, the midfielder was mocked on Twitter after being named on the bench for Liverpool's Premier League clash against Manchester City.

"I always thought he didn't really flourish at Arsenal", Henry told Sky Sports.

With that in mind, Sportsmail assesses where Oxlade-Chamberlain can break into Liverpool's squad.

Chamberlain has now revealed that the prospect of playing under Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp masterminded his decision to have disappointed Chelsea coach Antonio Conte.

While there were fears for Van Persie's future, the striker has since confirmed his injury isn't as bad as first reported. The 23-year-old has scored only six goals in 38 appearances following an £18.5million deal with AZ Alkmaar in 2016.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal at the age of 18 from Southampton after coming through the youth ranks at St Mary's, going on to make 198 first team appearances in all competitions for the Gunners. You have to bring something on the table.

"For five years he's kept telling me that I need to come to Liverpool because he was enjoying it so much and he feels I'd fit in, and the club would get the best out of me". That he can see that players love to play for him, there's a love and togetherness. "I'll miss the first few games but I'm sure the lads will put us into a great position".

"You can find out on all players what they are not good at, but normally you also find out what they are good at".

With Philippe Coutinho set to be reintroduced to the Liverpool fold, Klopp will have a number of options to reshape his attack if and when he rotates to avoid players feeling tired. Gunners manager Arsene Wenger reportedly wanted him to remain with his club and at the end, it was the player himself who chose to move on.

"You'd have seen him [Klopp] on the sidelines, he's very passionate, what you see is a fantastic manager and I think he will help Alex a lot", said Henderson, who will lead England against Slovakia in 2018 World Cup qualifying on Monday night.
