Yet for a certain type of Porsche driver, one for whom the stripped-out vibe and 2.8sec 0-62mph time are important, the Ring record matters. Behind the wheel of the two 911 GT2 RS vehicles were Lars Kern from Germany, a Porsche test driver and Nick Tandy from the United Kingdom, a Porsche factory race auto driver. However, Kern set the fastest time in his record run beating the Porsche 918 hypercar by a whole 10 seconds. The 911 GT2 RS is not only the most powerful 911 but also the fastest vehicle to go around the 20.6-kilometre Nordschleife Nurburgring.

The previous record was the 6:52.01 set by the all-wheel-drive Lamborghini Huracán Performante in 2016. Porsche claims that they had a time of 7:05.00 in mind when attempting the record run. The fastest time for a rear-wheel-drive auto was the 7:01.3 set by a Dodge Viper ACR at the start of September. That means the 911 GT2 RS has beat that goal by an impressive 17.7 seconds.

Porsche test driver, Lars Kern, regularly competes in the VLN Endurance Championship on the Nurburgring and knows the Nordschleife inside out. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Vice President Motorsport and GT Cars, said: "At the start of the development process, we set ourselves a lap time target for the GT2 RS of less than 7 minutes and 5 seconds". Everyone expected the 700-horsepower, rear-drive sports vehicle to be fast, but we're not sure how many people expected it to be this insane. That lap began at 7:11 p.m. local time and had an average speed around the infamously twisty track of 114.4 miles per hour.

Ancelotti set for reunion with PSG and Verratti
This is a really great match up with two very attacking minded teams here. "It was hard for PSG to convince players to join five years ago".

Sadly, the 911 GT2 RS has a limited production of only 1000 units.

The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the most powerful 911 to date and it's powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six rated at 700 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque and paired to a modified seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. It was like they were not even expecting that there new baby will reclaim their former glory back.
