Jets upset, baffled after replay review negates TD in game vs. Patriots

The Jets, left for dead, had sucked their fan base back in with three straight victories and - even more stunning - had a real shot to steal another one from the hated New England Patriots. It also wasn't the prettiest of his 187 regular-season wins.

Still, there plenty of moments that stung.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins scored on a 4-yard touchdown catch with 8:24 remaining in the fourth quarter - or at least that was the call on the field.

The Patriots' second possession ended on a fumble by Mike Gillislee, and NY turned that into another score.

"Sometimes they make decisions you agree with, sometimes they don't", McCown said. It's out of my control.

Seferian-Jenkins did get a hold of the ball again, but he didn't get any body parts down in the field of play before he landed out of bounds. The ref said it was going to be reviewed and it turned out right. It was a touchback.

"I let the team down".

In one of the strangest calls made so far in the 2017 National Football League season, what appeared to be a Jets touchdown was called back and ruled a fumble.

Ellison Praises Eminem's Rap Against Trump
The song tells his fans to either choose him or choose Trump , while warning that The Donald was a "kamikaze" who was set to lead the United States into "a nuclear holocaust".

"Yeah, it was just frustration", McCown said. "I'm going to go with what the ref said and I have to have better ball security". We played hard but we lost the game. "We hung in there at the end".

"We're just going to build off the game".

"We'll look at the film but we lost the game". From a bottom-line perspective, give them credit. "Nobody's hanging their head". "I feel like I let my team down". "I thought this was big for us as a team to win when we had to play well in the fourth quarter". But I think the guys are still optimistic. "I'm not going to blame this game on one play".

"No doubt, that was very costly".

At the end of the game, the seven-point margin of victory was not without controversy.

"It was something that Rob and I gotta keep working on". For Brady, he just wishes the win came a little more comfortably. "But I've got to have better ball security".

This is a team that creates its own adversity with sloppy play, coverage busts and untimely turnovers. You know who they have under center. That being said, the Patriots made sure to capitalize on what mistakes they did make. "They took advantage of it".
