Facebook acquired popular teen mobile app TBH, which lets users anonymously answer questions about their friends.

The big innovation behind tbh - short for "To Be Honest" - is that it provides users with ready-made prompts to various questions and conversation topics. Poll winners receive the poll results as compliments, consistent with the app's strapline: "See who likes you".

Despite being active in only a handful of USA states, app analyst firm Sensor Tower estimated in September that tbh had been installed more than 700,000 times.

But a Department of Justice spokesman told CNN that Boyle did not face arrest in the United States. The couple told U.S. officials and their families they wanted to fly commercially to Canada.

The service will continue to run as a separate app to Facebook, but the app's founders will become Facebook employees after the purchase is complete. The app's FAQ says that the team now has no plans to monetize tbh, but when they do they said that they will be "soliciting feedback from the community to make sure it complements the experience".

Anyone older than 13 can use the app, but TBH targets teens and their social networks, asking first-time users to select their high school grade and to identify their school or college.

Certain prewritten compliments like "Could win an Olympic gold medal for their eyeliner game" are present in the app as possible answers. "Most of all, we were compelled by the ways they could help us realize our vision and bring it to more people". So make sure to start a ideal survey and bring the best of questions for your friends and other relatives. Financial terms of the deal are still wrapped under suspense, but TechCrunch mentioned in a news feed that according to them the deal closed below a figure of $100 million and won't require any regulatory approval. This agreement will add one more app which focuses on teenagers and this will definitely give tough competition to the Snapchat users in future.
