Raiders' Marshawn Lynch suspended 1 game for shoving official

Lynch came out of retirement this season and was traded from Seattle to the Raiders.

After pushing the official, Lynch was ejected from the game and will have to sit out next Sunday's matchup against Buffalo unless he successfully appeals the league's decision.

The NFL suspended Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch for one game for the incident during Thursday night's game in which he was ejected after running on the field from the sideline and making contact with one of the officials during a brief scuffle between players from the Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.

Peters had just been flagged for a late hit on Raiders quarterback Derek Carr with 6:05 to play in the second quarter when Penn, left guard Kelechi Osemele and right guard Gabe Jackson went after Peters, prompting Lynch's sprint. They're real close, they're more like brothers than cousins, they're real close. After seeing some Raiders offensive linemen take offense after Peters' hit, Lynch came out in what appeared to be an effort to play peacemaker before grabbing the official. Peters was given an unnecessary roughness penalty and Lynch was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. "I didn't get a chance to, like, have a conversation about it".

Lynch will be eligible to return to Oakland's active roster on October 30, the day after the Raiders' game against the Buffalo Bills. "He was just trying to protect his cousin, get his cousin to the sideline", Penn told ESPN.

Lynch and Peters rode BART and had some fun with fans after the game.

Lynch has run for 266 yards in the Raiders' seven games and is averaging 3.7 yards per carry, a half-yard below his career average of 4.2 yards per rushing attempt. I told him you can't leave the bench like that. "' Obviously, you can never put your hands on an official". Lynch said he wanted to make a comeback so he could give something back to his hometown of Oakland before the Raiders move to Las Vegas in 2020.
