Trump launches Asia trip with a warning to North Korea

President Donald Trump holds up a hat that he and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe signed at Kasumigaseki Country Club, Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, in Kawagoe, Japan.

In South Korea, Trump will visit Camp Humphreys, a newly-expanded military base that will ultimately house numerous 28,500 USA troops on the peninsula.

He is scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Chinese President Xi Jingping before arriving in Da Nang.

The president plans additional meetings with Abe on Monday in a more formal setting and plans to participate in a joint press conference.

Eager to forge a bond with Tokyo's crucial ally, Abe was one of the first world leaders to court President-elect Trump.

President Donald Trump's first trip to Asia began with a round of golf, a custom cap and a hamburger of American beef.

A senior White House official told reporters that the two leaders did not keep score, but enjoyed each other's company.

"Our relationship is really extraordinary. And I don't think we've ever been closer to Japan than we are right now", he added.

Speaking to hundreds of cheering U.S. and Japanese troops at Yokota Air Base, just west of Tokyo, Mr Trump said: "No dictator, no regime, no nation should ever underestimate American resolve".

Sessions, however, did attend, and he and Papadopoulos sat next to each other, according to the source who was in the room. Gordon said Papadopoulos also offered to appear on the Sunday talk show circuit on behalf of Trump but was turned down.

Abe told reporters after the golf session that the two could talk frankly in a relaxed atmosphere while out on the course.

Abe said he and Trump were able to "carry out in depth discussion, at times touching on various hard issues".

In South Korea, Trump will address the National Assembly, where he's expected to urge all countries to do more to combat the nuclear threat from North Korea. Abe was behind the wheel of a golf cart as the two men were spotted moving from hole to hole, Trump in the passenger seat smiling and waving at those they passed.

Joined by his wife Melania on part of the trip, Trump's tour of Asia is the longest by an American president since George H.W. Bush in 1992.

"What's inflammatory is the North Korean regime and what they're doing to threaten the world", McMaster said.

North Korean Christians are in danger if Donald Trump continues his aggression towards Kim Jong Un, a former missionary in the pariah state is warning.

He said: "We want to get it solved".

The president has called the investigation "very distracting".

Each service member embodies the warrior creed, Trump said, adding their devotion, prowess and expertise comprise the USA military as the fiercest fighting force in world history.
