Seconds later, Janney got on stage and gave Winslet a searing kiss before heading back to her seat amidst loud cheering.

And the crowd went wild.

The two locked lips after Winslet, who received an award for her role in upcoming Woody Allen film Wonder Wheel, gushed about the West Wing star in her acceptance speech. Shailene Woodley presented Kate with the award.

The flick is slated to release on December 1 in the U.S.

Amid laughter from the audience, Winslet told Janney, "I want to stroke you, or something".
