Google announced today it will soon roll out a new feature to Google Search, followed by Google Maps, that will show you the estimated wait times for area restaurants. This isn't for restaurants requiring reservations, but the walk-in restaurants.

FoodAndWine.com is also reporting Google will add similar functionality for wait times at grocery stores to help avoid the most congested supermarkets when picking up turkey and stuffing.

Jags RB Leonard Fournette benched for Sunday's game
The team released a statement shortly before game time saying Fournette was suspended for the game due to a team rule infraction. Linder had been out the last three games with an illness with Shatley starting at center in his place.

To see wait times for almost a million sit-down restaurants around the world that allow walk-ins, just search for the restaurant on Google, open the business listing, and scroll down to the Popular Times section.

For example, searching for San Francisco restaurant Michael Mina using a smartphone in Google (goog) search or Google Maps brings up a section titled "Popular times" below the usual restaurant reviews.

This particular feature has been a nice addition for Google Search, and with the inclusion of restaurants should go a long way to helping visitors. You can even scroll left and right to see a summary of each day's wait times below the hour bars-so you can plan ahead to beat the crowds.
