"If Pakistan does not take action to lawfully detain Saeed and charge him for his crimes, its inaction will have repercussions for bilateral relations and for Pakistan's global reputation", White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders Sanders said. "Time has come to start finding ways of talking with Pakistan and finding a solution which will be in the interest of people of Pakistan, India, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh", Abdullah said, adding the people were paying the price for the rift between the two countries.

Musharraf said he had banned LeT in 2002 because the situation was different then. "America has asked for Hafiz Saeed's re-arrest only because of pressure from India", Waleed told Hindustan Times.

Referring to Saeed's house arrest in Pakistan, Musharraf said, "Let me surprise you".

"I'm the biggest supporter of Lashkar-e-Taiba and I know the LeT and JuD people like me", he said, while responding to a question on how the man who had once pursued the policy of "enlightened moderation" was joining hands with hardline Islamic groups.

Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday said that he is the biggest fan of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and that he likes Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed.

"They (LeT) are the biggest force".

India has repeatedly asked Pakistan to reinvestigate the Mumbai terror attacks case and also demanded trial of Hafiz Saeed and other terrorists, apart from giving evidence to Islamabad.

Acknowledging the role of terror outfits like JuD and LeT are waging a "jihad" for the liberation of Kashmir from India, the former Pakistan president said, "Yes, they are involved in Kashmir and I support them". "They (LeT) are the biggest force, India got them declared as terrorists by partnering with USA".

Saeed was put under house arrest after the Mumbai attack in November 2008 but he was freed by a court in 2009.

Saeed, who carries a bounty of $10 million on his head for terror activities, filed a petition in the United Nations asking his name to be struck off from the list of global list of designated terrorists.
