Missing Florida teen found safe in NY

Her mother Scarlett Parnell Frisina wrote on Facebook, "Our Caitlyn is safe & we're headed to get her!"

Police caught up with the pair on Friday in Upstate New York.

According to Rodriguiz's arrest warrant affidavit, a friend of Frasina told her parents the teenager said Rodriguez wanted her to leave the country with him.

Rodriguez is now being held in a NY jail and faces a charge of interfering with the custody of a minor. "We are emotionally drained, but we are absolutely elated to have her safe".

According to reports, Frisina - who plays soccer at the Fort White High School, where Rodriguez is a coach for the boys' soccer team - left her house on Saturday night. Her parents reported her missing on Sunday. The teen's phone - which had been completely erased - was left behind, authorities said.

Frisina and Rodriguez were spotted on cameras in Georgia on Sunday and then at a pawn shop in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Authorities began tracking the two through surveillance videos at rest stops as they traveled up the East Coast. The Columbia County Sheriff's Office will hold a press conference on Monday, at 2pm with additional details.

Authorities said earlier this week it appeared "a potential relationship" was blossoming between Frisina and Rodriguez before the teen's disappearance.

Officials at Fort White High School have suspended Rodriguez.

Rodriguez and the teen had been around each other "at sports events, but they've never been alone at all", Smith said.
