The University of Wisconsin dropped two spots to No. 6 in the final College Football Playoff rankings after the Badgers' 27-21 loss to Ohio State in Saturday's Big Ten Championship game.

The Buckeyes built a 21-10 halftime lead on the strength of three big plays. Taylor is a breakaway threat, averaging 150.5 yards per game and 7.0 yards per carry.

That would not be the case however, as the Ohio State offense stalled for the entirety of the second half. Each team traded field goals in the third quarter.

Terry McLaurin, an Indianapolis native, found the first cracks with an 84-yard catch-and-run that provided the first hints that team speed would be lopsided.

The Buckeyes started the season with an injured Mike Weber and relied early on true freshman rusher J.K. Dobbins. Then Parris Campbell shook free of a Badger tackler for a 57-yard touchdown.

The big deciding factor could be simple: Ohio State played for their conference championship and beat a previously undefeated team, while Alabama was at home this week after Auburn took the SEC West crown in the Iron Bowl last weekend.

There's a 'crazy' Conor McGregor-Irish mafia brawl rumor
Another potential and risky opponent for the Irishman is Khabib Nurmagomedov, who fights Edson Barboza at UFC 219 on December 30. Fighting is the worst - try to get up and get punched in the face every day when you have $100 million in the bank.

Fittingly, Barrett wasn't ideal while leading his team to a championship. Barrett threw an interception that was returned nine yards for a touchdown by Andrew Van Ginkel.

And what about Wisconsin, an undefeated team with a much-questioned schedule which is nearly a touchdown underdog to a two-loss team? Rather than kicking a red zone field goal on fourth-and-1, Meyer gave the Ball to Barrett, who bounced backward off a pair of Wisconsin defenders and found a way to gain just enough yardage. However, Wisconsin does have the better defensive unit as the Badgers are only giving up 12.0 points on defense and 236.9 yards. Northwestern is the only team to score more than 17 points against the Badgers. The Buckeyes have won four of their last five games played indoors.

The Buckeyes have won nine games by double digits this season, which makes their 55-24 loss at Iowa on November 4 more befuddling with each week.

And unlike Ohio State, the Nittany Lions and the Cardinal each had one loss by single digits. Barrett absorbed his first significant contact while being tackled during a third-down scramble on Ohio State's opening possession but popped right up without any apparent discomfort. At the very least, a strong showing in Indianapolis should keep the Playoff's 13 gatekeepers turning in their sleep Saturday night.

And while the Tide may have fewer blemishes on their resume, the Buckeyes have officially made things hard on the committee by following up a thorough 31-20 win over the Michigan Wolverines with a solid offensive showing against the Badgers' No. 1 defense.
