SM Entertainment Confirms SHINee Jonghyun's Has Passed Away

The Associated Press reported on Monday that Jonghyun's sister told police that the singer sent her text messages reading "Final farewell" and "I've had difficulties" prior to the discovery of his body, though authorities have not yet determined a cause of death. He was taken to hospital after being found unconscious in an apartment in Seoul, according to reports. "The depression that had been slowly eating me up finally devoured me and I couldn't defeat it".

News of Jonghyun's death prompted a flurry of messages on social media, with many fans voicing disbelief. So talented, so kind, so handsome, so wonderful, and so much more.

"No words can describe how heartbroken I am". Another added, "Hope someday people will understand that depression is not a joke".
