Records were shattered in Erie, Pennsylvania, when 34 inches of snow fell on Christmas Day, making it Erie's snowiest December 25 on record.

The system that came Sunday afternoon from the west-northwest brought about two inches of snow accumulation by Sunday evening, with another inch or two expected to fall by 2 to 3 a.m. Monday, according to the weather service. The previous record was 44ins that fell in Morgantown in March 1958.

Due to the massive snowfall, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is restricting commercial vehicle travel on some Erie County interstates.

The National Weather Service has continued a warning for lake-effect snow from OH to Pennsylvania and into western NY.

New England could get up to 8 inches (20 centimeters) of snow.

The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids has extended the Winter Weather Advisory until 7:00 AM tomorrow morning for much of the FOX 17 viewing area.

It will be breezy on Monday, with westerly winds between 15 and 25 miles per hour and wind gusts reaching 35 miles per hour, which will create low wind chills of close to zero.
