Arsenal Ready to Return for Lemar, Gunners 4/1 to Seal Deal

Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim has refused to completely rule out a major sale in the January window amid widespread reports that Liverpool are hunting Thomas Lemar.

The 22-year-old has been in decent form this season, scoring two goals from 13 league appearances, and both the Gunners and Liverpool are said to be reigniting their interest in the winger.

Lemar has been tipped as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho at Anfield, while the Reds are also looking at Schalke's Leon Goretzka and Dortmund's Christian Pulisic.

Lemar is one of the best young midfielders in Europe and will certainly enhance the quality of the current Liverpool midfield.

Lemar had been close to making a switch to the Premier League with Arsenal last summer as Arsene Wenger looked to sign the £90m-rated forward to replace Manchester City-bound Sanchez.

"We are not used to selling in the winter", Jardim told reporters on Monday.

In Liverpool's case, the British record deal to sell Coutinho to Barcelona has seemingly set a precedent, and Monaco are said to be of the belief that "Lemar's value has also risen".

The report suggests that Arsenal are prepared to cash in on Sanchez instead of losing him for free in the coming summer transfer window, and will look to sell him for around £30 million.

'But the transfer window lasts until the end of the month and many things can happen'.

"And, for Lemar, it's a risk to go to Liverpool right now in the way that, at Monaco, he would play every single game". It now remains to be seen if the figure turns out to be prohibitive for either Arsenal or Liverpool, or if either club ends up signing him.
