Health officials said 36 people have died from complications of the flu in Los Angeles County during the current flu season.

Hays County Local Health Department Epidemiologist Eric Schneider said flu season is technically September through April.

"It is with great regret that I am informing the community of these deaths from influenza", stated Dr. Karen Haught, Tulare County Health Officer.

Besides these, if the patient has symptoms of breathlessness, chest pain, drowsiness, fall in blood pressure, sputum mixed with blood then the patient of this category should be admitted to the hospital.

"Even if it's not 100 percent effective, it still reduces the number of hospitalizations and can make the illness more mild if you do get the flu", said Jennifer Layden with the Illinois Department of Public Health. If you have the flu, Tylenol, Ibuprofen and Tamiflu are useful...along with getting plenty of liquids and rest.
