Cobra Kai Teaser: Daniel and Johnny Return in YouTube's Karate Kid Revival

That's right: Because nothing ever dies in pop culture, The Karate Kid saga continues later this year when Ralph Macchio and William Zabka return for YouTube Red's upcoming 10-part series. The first teaser trailer for Cobra Kai has arrived, and it hints at the push back that Johnny receives when he reopens the dojo years after it closed in disgrace. This isn't the first time that Zabka and Macchio have crossed paths since The Karate Kid. Maybe Daniel's seemingly flawless life as a vehicle salesman with a family isn't as ideal as it seems.

"We are not trained to be merciful here".

The trailer begins with voiceovers from LaRusso and Lawrence, as they list the pros and cons of the Cobra Kai dojo's revival. And as LaRusso puts it in this teaser, "Johnny, you and I, this, we aren't done". Under the tutelage of their apartment complex's eccentric maintenance man Mr. Miyagi, Daniel learns about karate, and life, and ultimately faces and defeats Johnny in the All Valley Karate Tournament. Moreover, judging by some familiar rhetoric, Johnny seems to be hitting the Sensei John Kreese Kool-Aid hard, despite the whole "you're a loser", "second place is no place", parking lot choking incident.
