President Donald Trump tweeted a quote from former President Barack Obama on Tuesday morning as part of his continual attempts to downplay Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The sweeping indictment describes in detail an unprecedented, years-long effort by Russian Federation to interfere with the U.S. political system and the 2016 presidential election, affirming the longstanding conclusions of the USA intelligence community. He also lamented that "there is a bit of a revision of history going on", saying Trump held Russia's feet to the fire a lot more than Obama ever did. The Indictment charges continue to say that the Russian defendants started to drum support for Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump in early to mid-2016 and started to disparage the Hillary Clinton presidential; campaign.

The apology follows a series of tweets Goldman had sent after the Department of Justice formally charged the Russians for interfering in the 2016 election by assuming US identities, sowing discord on social media, communicating with unwitting Americans and even setting up political rallies from afar. "So why didn't he do something about Russian meddling?"

Karl also questioned whether Trump thinks - in relation to a recent tweet - that the FBI failed to act on tips about the Florida school shooting suspect because the bureau was too focused on the Russian Federation probe. Like the indictment, the assessment specifically highlighted Russia's use of social media and cyber incidents as key components of Moscow's covert operations against the USA, stating that "Putin ordered an influence campaign...to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency".

Trump claims in a second tweet Tuesday that he's been much tougher on Russian Federation than Obama, saying "just look at the facts".
