Four people, including a terrorists, were killed on Sunday night in Shopian district after terrorists fired on a security forces mobile vehicle check post, a police official said.

"Three Over Ground Workers (OGWs)/ accomplices in the auto who were accompanying the militant were found to be dead".

Police reached the spot and was carrying out legal formalities, he said. "In retaliatory firing, one terrorist was killed and a weapon has been found on him", said the spokesman.

Following the incident, clashes between surging crowds and security forces erupted in a few Shopian areas, a report said.

He said that a joint Mobile Vehicle Check Post near Pohan (Shopian) was sacked upon by militants at 8pm from a vehicle.

However, the Governor insisted that, in his view, crypto-assets do not "appear to pose material risks to financial stability". However, he added that if more people were to start investing, problems may arise.

The Army could not immediately furnish the details of the circumstances in which the accomplices were killed. The identities of the three persons are being ascertained.

The deceased civilians, whom army described as OWGs were identified as Suhail Khalil wagay, Mohammad Shahid Khan and Shahnawaz Ahmad wagay, all locals.

"Three Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) or accomplices in the vehicle who were accompanying the terrorist were also found to be dead".

In a similar incident in January this year, three civilians were killed by the Army in Chaigund village of Shopian after two militants were killed.
