Wednesday's weather: Sunny spells and a few showers

As long as we can weather the cold for now, it appears as though we'll be rewarded later this month. Timing for this system is as follows: rain is likely to start as early as Tuesday evening in areas south and west of the Philly area, with some rain/snow mix or even purely snow in places north of the city.

Tonight: Snow, mainly before 10 p.m. Patchy blowing snow. High near 34. Low around 28. Northeast wind around 7 miles per hour becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

It'll be a precipitation potpourri the next few days as lake effect snow revs up on the backside of the system.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 40.
