Drew Brees Rumors: Vikings, 'QB-Needy Teams' Have Contacted Saints QB

Last season, he led the Saints to the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs and did it with a stronger defense as well as a pair of incredibly talented running backs. But Brees has yet to come to terms with the Saints, leaving the door open for the Vikings and other teams to reach out.

With the free agency period looming, this pushes more pressure upon the Saints to get a new deal worked out for Brees in the next couple of days.

According to Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings have already placed a call to the 39-year-old.

Brees' agent, Tom Condon, can legally begin discussing his client with other teams as of noon ET Monday.

The Vikings aren't the only team that has checked with Brees and his agent regarding the future Hall of Famer's availability.

Putin says Russian Federation ready to discuss any issues with US
Throughout the interview, Putin continued to dismiss the claims that the meddling had come at the orders of the Russian government.

"Congratulations to Zach Strief on being arguably probably one of the best players I've had a chance to coach, one of the best teammates and someone our whole organization and fanbase can be proud of", Payton said in a statement, via the team's website. Teams like the Minnesota Vikings are trying to figure out how to piece together their best rosters while players are looking to cash in on big paydays or position themselves to be Super Bowl contenders. Minnesota offers one of the most complete rosters in the National Football League on both sides of the ball that just earned a berth in the NFC Championship game. Teams can not legally make their pitches or offers to free agents until that time period, but they are now allowed to speak with them.

Drew Brees is no doubt elite - he hasn't passed for less than 4,000 yards in a season since 2005, but this marriage isn't likely to happen.

The situation is worth monitoring as the legal tampering period arrives.

Me too, Mr. Mays.
