The team members will inspect the works done in promoting solar roof top and solar pump scheme and also, discuss planning and development of activities that would increase the use of solar energy.

India has announced about 27 proposed projects at the founding conference of International Solar Alliance, which entail funding of Dollars 1.4 billion.

The oblique reference was towards US President Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement, which was signed by almost 200 countries in December 2015 in an effort to curb global greenhouse gas emission and limit global warming to within 2 degrees Celsius. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned about these projects and the investment in his inaugural address of the conference. And we decided all together to act ...

Macron said the countries at ISA represent three-fourths of the world population.

Expressing his enormous happiness and lauding the efforts of Solar Mamas, he said, "Our solar mamas did not wait for us. They chose to act and keep acting", he said. They began to act and achieve concrete results.

Both Macron and Modi have doubled down on their climate efforts in response to Trump's decision to pull the US out of the 2015 Paris agreement. While hailing the "Solar Mamas", a group of women solar engineers, he also referred to the countries which chose to leave the climate agreement.

Irena project tools and platforms such as the Global Atlas for Renewable Energy, the Project Navigator, and the Sustainable Energy Marketplace will be made available to ISA, a coalition of 120 sun-belt countries launched at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015 with the mission of mobilising $1trn for solar energy projects globally.

Modi said there should be a full ecosystem for availability and development of technology, economic resources, development of storage technology, mass manufacturing and innovation.

But on Saturday, India said that membership of the body will be thrown open to all countries that want to join, with no criteria such as duration of sunlight and geographical location.

The alliance has 60 signatories, with 30 of those countries having ratified the agreement. India also aims to achieve 40% installed power capacity from renewable energy by 2030.

They will proceed with the designation of National Focal Points and strengthen ISA to become an action-oriented and member-driven multilateral organisation.

It also called for exploring innovative financing mechanisms that can generate a sustainable market for the deployment of cost effective solar technologies, coupled with constructive policy initiatives to catalyse public and private investments to reduce the cost of solar projects in developing countries. India, meanwhile, has committed to building the capacity for 100 gigawatts of solar power by 2022.
