Trump aide John McEntee escorted out of White House, moves to campaign

McEntee, who has been by Trump's side for the past three years, was escorted out of the White House on Monday afternoon, the Wall Street Journal reported. He made sure Mr. Trump had markers to sign autographs, delivered messages to him in the White House residence and, over the weekend, ensured that the clocks in the White House residence were adjusted for daylight-saving time.

McEntee was reportedly escorted out of the White House after his firing on Tuesday and was not even given time to collect his personal belongings, including his jacket. Hicks' resignation plans were revealed a day after she testified to the House Intelligence Committee that she had to tell "white lies" while working for the Trump administration. Cummings also asked for documents related to White House employees who have been granted interim security clearances since the 2016 election and documents related to any White House official who has resigned or was sacked over a criminal investigation or failure to obtain a security clearance.

But it doesn't appear that McEntee will be gone forever. If these two men had background issues serious enough to warrant ejection from the White House now - and the security response to McEntee's termination seems to suggest that in his case - then it's worth asking whether these security issues compromised the president over the last fourteen months of his presidency, too. Keith Schiller, the president's longtime director of security, left the White House in September. According to CNN, McEntee is also being investigated by the Department of Homeland Security for alleged financial crimes.

He didn't bag a third wicket in the day but remained the only bowler to have caused the Indian batsmen any sort of trouble. Sri Lanka began well after being asked to bat with Kusal Mendis leading from the front, scoring a fine 38-ball 55.

In February, it emerged that former White House aide Rob Porter was allowed to remain in a sensitive post despite the F.B.I. learning of serious allegations of domestic abuse from two of Porter's former wives.

White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters declined to discuss the situation with the Journal, saying, "We do not comment on personnel matters".

President Trump's re-election campaign manager Brad Parscale announced Mr McEntee's hiring on Tuesday. Aides said that Mr. McEntee often tried to keep hangers-on away from Mr. Trump when he traveled to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. "We need the help of proven leaders such as Katrina [Pierson] and John to promote the President's growing portfolio of achievements across the country".
