Bon Jovi reunited with former members onstage last night to celebrate their admission into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, as the late icon Nina Simone and other nominees made up this year's induction class.

R&B superstar Mary J. Blige welcomed Simone into the Rock Hall, and R&B singer Andra Day performed in her honor. In the end, it's really all about time'.

"Our careers have paralleled in a lot of ways - whether it was the ups or the downs - we've come through everything together and we do this at this point because we love the people we work with", he said on Howard Stern's show earlier this year. One of the biggest moments of the evening was when the guys of Bon Jovi took the stage with their original guitarist Richie Sambora and bass player Alec John Such. The group then proceeded to power through several of their mammoth hits, including "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "It's My Life".

A handful of the 2018 Rock Hall inductees and the celebrities who inducted them headed backstage to the press room during tonight's Induction Ceremony.

Each year, between five and seven acts usually make it into the Rock Hall following a vote by 1,000 people, including performers, music historians and industry experts.

Simone was a leader in pushing for civil rights and influenced everyone from Aretha Franklin to Alicia Keys.

Cars members all acknowledged his contribution to the group, and singer Ric Ocasek even spoke about living in Cleveland for a short time, something which received an enthusiastic response from the capacity crowd at Public Hall.

The Moody Blues, the Cars, Dire Straits, Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe were also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Her brother, Sam Waymon, accepted the induction on his sister's behalf.

"Writing it was therapeutic for me", Bon Jovi said. She will be inducted by Brittany Howard, of blues rock band Alabama Shakes.

Jon Bon Jovi will be inducted alongside current bandmates David Bryan and Tico Torres, as well as former members Richie Sambora and Alec John Such. "Other days, I write the 'F**k you" speech. She was a pioneering guitarist who performed gospel music and was known to some as "the godmother of rock "n" roll".

The 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air May 5 on HBO and will also be heard on SiriusXM Radio. The band will be inducted by Howard Stern.
