Carvahal To Leave Swansea

CARLOS CARVALHAL will leave his role as Swansea manager at the end of the season as the club prepares for an nearly certain relegation.

The Swans look nearly certain to be relegated from the Premier League after a run of eight games without a win, including a defeat to fellow strugglers Southampton on Tuesday night.

But a draw at Everton followed by a 1-0 win over Swansea saw Southampton all but secure safety on Tuesday night barring a miraculous 10 goal swing by Swansea on the final day.

Carvalhal is out of contract at the end of the season but had been in talks to remain at the Liberty Stadium.

Laudrup's agent Bayram Tutumlu said: "Huw Jenkins [the chairman] asked me about Michael but Michael could not leave his club".

Swansea host relegated Stoke City, while Southampton are home to champions Manchester City.

"It's disgusting not to depend on ourselves", said Swansea boss Carvalhal.

"The club has tried to do things on the cheap, bring players in on the cheap". "Decisions have to be made in terms of recruitment and retention of the players". Former Wales manager Chris Coleman has become available after leaving Sunderland.

"We have done a very good job with 20 points from 17 games".

With 11 goals in all competitions, Jordan is Swansea's top scorer this season.

"They were emotion as a outcome of winning this key game".

But their form has collapsed since then, with the club now looking doomed to the drop, ending a spell of seven seasons in the Premier League.

"I always look myself in the mirror".

"They've got no creativity, no real goal threat, the recruitment has been poor", said Roberts.

Dave Wagner's men will be looking to send Arsene Wenger off into the Premier League sunset without the farewell win his 22 years at Arsenal demands.
