But fear not, it's not all quiet on the eastern front: Deep Silver will still be showing off Metro Exodus at this year's E3, including new gameplay and new environments.

It will be the first new entry in the series in almost six years, with 2013's Metro: Last Light being the most recent game.

In its press release, THQ Nordic did not provide a rationale or explanation for why the game was delayed.

THQ Nordic's report also gave us more details on its action-adventure games Biomutant and Darksiders III, but players might have to keep waiting a bit more.
