Nokia announces X6 with a notch and a dual-camera setup

The company has added a number of AI-powered features in the camera software. This is the first model from Nokia to have that notch and a 19:9 display. The features and specs of this phone have been one of the worst-kept secrets in smartphone history, with details such as internals, price and design leaking online in recent weeks.

The Nokia X6 comes with the model number TA-1099 and will be initially exclusive to the Chinese market. It comes in two RAM options; 4 GB RAM or 6 GB RAM.

A 16MP + 5MP dual camera combination clicks photos from the rear, enhanced with HDR support and artificial intelligence. Android 8.1 Oreo comes preinstalled, of course.

What are your thoughts on this new Nokia device? As of now, the device is expected to be sold exclusively only in China. Both the prices translate to around Rs 13,900 and Rs 18,100 respectively at present conversion rates. From the images, we can't find the ZEISS logo anywhere on the device. Today, the brand has gone ahead and launched the Nokia X6 in China and put all speculations to rest.

HMD Global hasn't announced when the Nokia X6 will be coming to India. This has been confirmed by a company official himself. Nokia X6 sports a large 5.8-inch display with FHD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia X6 packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 16-megapixel front shooter for selfies. Having said that, the back of the phone has a dual camera setup placed in the center in vertical orientation, with fingerprint scanner and Nokia moniker below it. Battery capacity is 3060mAh and it can handle Quick Charge 3.0 tech via a USB-C connector. The device comes in White, Black, and Blue color options. Talking about the design, the phone has more glass than metal on the outside. "The 5.8" panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 to help protect the device from scratches that can crop up from daily usage.
