Rachael DelTondo, 32, died on Mother's Day six months after being suspended from her job.

"I counted six shots that I heard", said Fred Poore, a neighbor.

The horrific crime took place in a quiet Aliquippa neighborhood, just outside of Pittsburgh.

Though she was suspended by Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, DelTondo was never charged. The suspension came after school officials received an anonymous email containing a February 2016 police report stating DelTondo had been found in a parked vehicle with a 17-year-old former student.

No charges were filed in the incident, but Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier described circulation of the report as a "personal vendetta".

Inside was DelTondo and the teen.

Teacher Rachael DelTondo was shot multiple times in front of the home of her parents. However, the school's CEO found that the teenager was never a registered student at the school. Cops later found text messages and Snapchat messages which revealed the pair had a 'relationship'.

CBS News reports police believe DelTondo knew her assailant and the shooting was likely a "crime of passion". "Prime of her life, and this is what happens", said neighbor Philomena Rossi.

We were still working on the script and (then) came Race (3 ). "In fact, I have never been a part of such a film". The film that is slated for its release on June 15 will have its trailer launch today.

"The reason this report was not filed in February 2016 with the Aliquippa School District, Children and Youth Services and a mandated report to the Department of Education was because it was an attempted cover up", the second email reads. Police have not named a suspect in her death and would not comment to the media about whether they had interviewed any suspects.

No charges were brought, but DelTondo was still suspended by the school.

"We were saddened this morning to learn of the tragic death of Rachel DelTondo, apparently the result of a violent incident in the City of Aliquippa", he said.

Reports say that the police report remained confidential until October, when the informant sent the email to DelTondo's school. "We express our sympathy to her family and coworkers and will support them in any way possible in the weeks and months ahead as they mourn her passing".

KDKA cites sources saying the alleged police leak about DelTondo also prompted a Pa. state police investigation of the Aliquippa Police, with DelTondo cooperating.

The teacher was planning a big, elaborate wedding with her Italian-American family, which included a $10,000, custom-made dress from a NY designer, CBS Local reported. DelTondo told police that the teen was upset and they were friends who were just talking.

However, a year later, a report of the incident was leaked to the press. By early 2017, they finally received a check in the mail.
