First lady Melania Trump attempts to put speculation on whereabouts to rest

After almost three weeks out of sight, Melania Trump tried to put to rest speculation about her health and even her whereabouts as she continues to recover from medical treatment for a kidney condition.

'Rest assured, I'm here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!

Trump hasn't been seen in public since May 10 in Maryland, when she and the president welcomed home three American detainees from their captivity in North Korea.

As highlighted by Politico reporter Kyle Cheney, Trump's Thursday morning tweet attacking the media for its Russian Federation probe coverage begins with the same phrasing as a Wednesday night Melania Trump tweet attacking the media for asking questions about her whereabouts.

Meanwhile, according to CNN, the first lady hasn't appeared in public for 20 days.

Bush administration in 2005. "In some ways, Kim Jong Un may have met his match here with our very unconventional president". North Korea has "brilliant potential" and will be a "great economic and financial Nation one day", Donald Trump says.

Since then, she has been absent from public events including the Memorial Day wreath-laying at Arlington National Cemetery and Sports and Fitness Day at the White House.

Melania Trump wants us to know she's all right, okay? Is the first lady OK, asks Twitter?

No word on when she will attend her next public event.

She did not appear to be at the window, intensifying speculation. She revealed: "I wouldn't characterise this as a long absence". During her 11-minute speech, she underlined her commitment to spreading a message of social media kindness, as the President sat feet from his wife in the front row. "She was hospitalized for nearly a week and is now home and recovering".

Most unlikely of all was the claim that she has shacked up with former president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle to write a tell-all book about her life in the White House. On Tuesday, yet another rumor on Melania Trump's supposed disappearance had popped up, as an unnamed senior White House official told Politico that the president's people "are hiding something" regarding the first lady's whereabouts. But her office has dismissed these theories, saying she's back at work and has been involved in internal meetings this week.
