Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Make First Post-Honeymoon Appearance Together

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, attended the annual Trooping of the Colour ceremony on Saturday, the first time the couple have attended the Queen's birthday celebrations together.

Today the royal family stepped out to make Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand in a tour to coincide with the Invictus Games which will be held in Sydney from October 20 to 27.

Meghan wowed the crowds as she broke royal protocol and stepped out in an off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress.

Kate Middleton wore a similar ensemble in pastel blue. Meghan has become particularly close to her father-in-law, who walked her down the aisle and was instrumental in helping Meghan and Harry with wedding planning. Back in 2012, the Queen took Kate, Duchess of Cornwall, for such an "away trip", this time to Leicester at the start of her Diamond Jubilee tour marking 60 years on the throne.

Bringing Prince Harry's new bride along with her is a "is a really positive sign of favour, encouragement and endorsement by the Queen", Robert Lacey, historical consultant for Netflix's "The Crown", tells People.

Meghan appeared cool calm and collected, but it seems she may have been relying on her reassuring husband.

Meghan's first tour is part of her induction into the royal family.

She also received some help from Samantha Cohen, an Australian-born palace adviser who has worked closely with the Queen.

All four countries are members of the Commonwealth, the 53-nation group for which Harry is a youth ambassador.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said Australians would be excited about the visit, and the couple could expect a very warm welcome.

In Australia, Meghan and Harry will visit Sydney for the 2018 Invictus Games, the Paralympic-style sporting event Harry founded for service men and women.
