Rockets Determined to Sign Carmelo Anthony

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Rockets are "determined" to sign Carmelo Anthony once he parts ways with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

According to Wojnarowski, the Thunder have begun exploring trades where Anthony could be moved as an expiring contract and be waived, becoming a free agent once his $27.9 million clears waivers. On Monday, they watched as Luc Richard Mbah A Moute left for a return to the Clippers on a one-year, $4.3 million deal, losing one of their more versatile forwards and a strong defensive presence off the bench.

A league source confirmed the meeting. Led by their two superstars, James Harden and Chris Paul, along with a solid supporting cast featuring Clint Capela and P.J. Tucker, the Rockets won an NBA-leading 65 games.

Anthony's contract, which has one year and $27.9 million remaining, will make a trade more hard, but he is likely to become a free agent even if he is traded, as any team that acquires him would likely waive him.

If Anthony were to end up in Miami, it would add a scoring punch to a team that finished sixth in the Eastern Conference previous year.

Korea Will Honor 'Contract' to Denuclearize
He said there's a "disconnect" between Trump's rhetoric and what he's actually achieved to end the nuclear threat. North Korean negotiations will be long and grueling, but they shouldn't eat up all of America's attention.

Thus far, Anthony has met with the Rockets and Heat.

The 10-time All-Star averaged 16.2 points on 40.4-percent shooting.

Once the 34-year old forward is officially free to sign with another team, it is believed he'll draw interest from a number of teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.

Green, 32, has averaged 9.8 points and 19.7 minutes in 585 regular-season games.

Anthony expressed to the Thunder at the end of the team's playoff run he would not accept a bench role.
