Giuliani: Strzok Testimony a 'Disgrace'

Mark Meadows, a member of the House Oversight Committee, said Page offered "new information" during her testimony that suggested further evidence of political bias at the FBI regarding the investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails and claims of ties between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russian Federation.

The comments sparked immediate objections from Democrats, who called them outrageous, and Strzok was livid.

But despite the partisan hubbub, the stakes were high.

Representative Louie Gohmert went so far as to call out Strzok over his affair with Page, while other House Republicans, including Trey Gowdy, Jim Jordan and Bob Goodlatte, chastised him over what they believed was bias toward Trump during the investigations of Hillary Clinton's private email server and the Trump campaign's alleged contacts with Russian Federation during the 2016 campaign.

It is point that has been largely brushed aside in Trump-friendly media circles, with a text Strzok sent to Page in May 2017 also receiving comparatively little scrutiny. Trump tweeted last month.

Once special counsel Robert Mueller found out about his text messages he fired him from the Russian Federation investigation. Strzok is unique in that he sent a series of text messages to senior Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer Lisa Page insulting Trump, and these were later made public by the Department of Justice. Strzok and Page were having an extramarital affair at the time.

And yet some analysts couldn't help but notice a hint of irony in Republicans' argument that Strzok's personal views must have influenced his official duty, while they simultaneously conduct investigations into politicians they openly support or oppose. "And they will frame Donald Trump, which is one of the reasons they're trying to set a perjury trap for him". Her apparent consideration in answering lawmakers' questions served as contrast to the raucous testimony on Thursday of embattled Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Peter Strzok before the same congressional committees.

Croatia took full advantage, by equalising through Ivan Perisic before Mario Mandzukic scored the victor in extra-time. Three times now we've been a goal down and have come back, and that really says a lot about our team spirit.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), referring to Strzok's affair with Page and his denial of any bias, told the Federal Bureau of Investigation agent, "I can't help but wonder, when I see you looking there with a little smirk, how many times did you look so innocent into your wife's eyes". As Strzok began to talk, Gohmert tried to prevent Strzok from speaking again, saying he had not asked him a question.

And one of the things I found most egregious with Mr. Horowitz's testimony, and - by the way Mr. Horowitz got a call four times from someone wanting to brief him about this, and he never returned the call.

"President Trump's continued refusal to condemn the Russians' attacks on our democracy, even after Special Counsel Mueller indicted 12 Russian intelligence officials for interfering in the 2016 election, makes it clear that meeting with Putin would be both pointless and unsafe", Pelosi said.

"I have always told the truth", Strzok said. "No, he's not. We'll stop it".

Strzok's peculiar reaction to one question caught the eye of viewers and many took to Twitter to confirm that their eyes weren't deceiving them.

"You need to understand that that was written late at night, off the cuff, and it was in response to a series of events that included then-candidate Trump insulting the immigrant family of a fallen war hero", Strzok said.
