Jose Mourinho reveals one worry ahead of Premier League season

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho thinks Paul Pogba was "absolutely brilliant" during France's World Cup campaign and hopes the midfielder "understands why" he played at the level he did.

Mourinho added: "To win the World Cup can only be a positive thing".

Sanchez wasn't among the United squad heading across the Atlantic because there was an issue with his visa after the Chile forward accepted a 16-month suspended sentence in Spain over a tax issue.

"I'm not anxious about playing Liverpool here or Real Madrid or Milan". It is hard to say winning the World Cup is not good for a player's career, I can only imagine it will only be positive.

"There is no-one to blame - the club is making an effort". I have to respect the United States authorities in their process of visas.

"But everything is really bad and then we go to the United Kingdom and have to play in the Premier League".

Jose Mourinho's men will then play a further friendly against Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquakes before facing AC Milan, Liverpool and Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup tournament.

Los Angeles Dodgers: Why a Manny Machado trade should not happen
For fans of the Baltimore Orioles , the reality that Machado will soon be wearing someone else's jersey is painfully setting in. However, Rosenthal adds that the Dodgers' and Yankees' offers for Machado "remain strongest".

United's first pre-season outing sees them meet Club America in Arizona on Thursday, just three weeks before their opening Premier League fixture against Leicester City.

Players involved in the World Cup have been extra time off and although Mourinho admits that presents some problems, he is keen for some of his fringe players to have the opportunity to impress.

"I did it a few seasons back with Adnan [Januzaj]", he said. It is what it is and we have to make the best of it.

"I'm anxious because I'm not training and then go to the Premier League without lots of players". I hope that he understands why he was very good. "It's not good for me, for the team".

Mourinho is also without Diogo Dalot, the 19-year-old full-back signed from Porto for £19m, because of injury.

"So if Alexis is not working with us for another 15 to 20 days that will be bad".

"I don't think I would still be involved right now if the manager didn't believe in me".
