Tiger Woods shoots 4-under 66 to open Bridgestone Invitational

Throw in his triumph in Australia at a tri-sanctioned tournament by the Asian, European and Australian Tours in February, Kiradech certainly has reason to feel like he's on top of the world but he knows only a win at the iconic Firestone Country Club this week can put the exclamation mark to his impressive 2018 campaign.

Aside from the residents of Northeast Ohio, you'd be hard pressed to find someone more disappointed to see the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational leaving Akron than Tiger Woods.

The last of his 79 PGA Tour victories came at this tournament in 2013, but a year later he was limping off the course during the final round due to back issues that surfaced following a first surgery in March of that year.

On Wednesday, Tiger told reporters the straight-forward course at Firestone, which is rare on the tour, will remain a special place to him.

This event is nearly always loaded up with superstars playing a nondescript course that nearly always delivers a big name champion.

Lahiri will play with Luke List at 10.20 am from the first tee, while Woods will start play with Jason Day at the same time but from the tenth tee.

Jacksonville printing company concerned about 3D printed guns
A federal law passed in 1988 - crafted with NRA support - bars the manufacture, sale or possession of an undetectable firearm. The order has put on hold a plan for people to be able to legally download blueprints to make 3-D printed guns.

The only downside to having a stacked field is that it makes picking players that I think will win, extremely hard. "I use it as a week to try and work on my game and if I get myself into contention, then that's just a bonus", said McIlroy. "But I also had to play well to do it and I was ranked pretty far in the world there". This year, his career has continued to trend nicely with a couple of impressive top-five finishes at the WGC-Mexico Championship and WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

"I know it's going to be a challenge, obviously now, to keep what I have going, and I'll see how well I can deal with that", said Molinari. The company next year sponsors the Senior Players Championship at Firestone, while the WGC event moves to Memphis, Tennessee. "I played myself into a great position ..."

On the one hand, his top-50 ranking serves as affirmation of what's been a bounce-back year for the 14-time Major-winner. From the depths of the 1,200's last December he forged his way in after The Open.

"I just feel like this week is an ideal time to work on a few things [ahead of next week's US PGA Championship]".

"I started out the new season and I really haven't played that well", Matsuyama said Tuesday.

Fellow past champion Rory McIlroy, who like Woods was T-6 at the Open Championship two weeks ago, has one win and three runners-up finishes this year.
