The digital wellness features are all still in beta, and won't be included when you get the update. Adaptive Brightness will now harness machine learning to understand how you like to set the brightness slider in various surroundings, helping to conserve battery life without marring the viewing experience.

Android Pie is now official after being formally announced by Google today.

New adaptive settings for battery and display brightness learn your habits over time and allocate dedicated resources and battery power to the apps you typical open at a given time of day or location. For example, you can type "Lyft" into Google Search and you'll see fare prices for places like Home and Work as well as an ETA for the nearest auto to your location.

Android 9 - also called Android Pie - comes with artificial intelligence built in that lets a user's smartphone learn how it is operated. Swipe up from anywhere to see full-screen previews of recently used apps and simply tap to jump back into one of them. In addition to confirming that P is now Pie, Google is now referencing Android 9.0 as Android 9 Pie, marking a slight change from previous Android version releases that have typically arrived in the decimal form - such as Android 8.0 Oreo.
