Rapper Mac Miller Reportedly Dead at 26

Mac Miller, the platinum hip-hop star whose rhymes varied from party raps to lyrics about depression and drug use, has died at the age of 26.

On Friday (September 7), TMZ reported that Miller had passed away after suffering an alleged overdose in his San Fernando Valley home.

McCormick was open about his struggles with addiction during MTV2's reality TV series "Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family".

At times, Miller's personal life attracted as much - if not more - attention than his professional accomplishments, particularly in the case of his relationship with singer Ariana Grande. His first studio album, "Blue Slide Park", was released in 2011.

When reached by phone Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office would not confirm Miller's death.

Mac Miller and Ariana Grande perform on stage, June 4, 2017, in Manchester, England for the "One Love Manchester" benefit concert. In May, the Swimming rapper wrecked his auto after hitting a utility pole.

While details are still emerging, law enforcement has given an answer to the question of how did Mac Miller die? The album entered at number one on the Billboard 200. In 2013, he described his problems with lean to Complex: "I was so fucked up all the time it was bad".

Following his arrest, Ariana - who is now engaged to TV star Pete Davidson - tweeted: "Pls take care of yourself".

Miller told The Associated Press that year that the album's depth and quality reflected two years of warp-speed development, his move from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles and just how serious he was about the craft.

Our thoughts are with his family at this hard time.

Just Thursday, Vulture published a profile of Miller. I wish it started tomorrow.

"How absurd you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn't the case (just Cinderealla is ab me)", she tweeted. "I can't imagine not waking up sometimes and being like, 'I don't feel like doing shit.' And then having days where you wake up and you feel on top of the world".
