Microsoft announce the new Surface Laptop 2

Microsoft talked up the refreshed Surface line on October 2 during its Fall Event in New York City. Microsoft says that the Surface Pro 6 is powered by Intel's latest 8th generation processor and it comes with up to 8GB of RAM. Other than a marginally-improved display and "redesigned" cooling technology, it doesn't sound like much else is changing between 2017's Surface Pro 5 and 2018's Pro 6.

Designed in-house over three years, the Surface Headphones evolved on the inside and changed shape on the outside many times before turning into the final product that will ship this holiday season (initially in the United States only). Just like the Surface Pro 6, the Surface Laptop doesn't come with an USB-C port, which is a bit disappointing. However, for professionals who need to stay on the move, it's far from a awful bargain.

Surface Pro 6 will be available in black and platinum beginning October 16, starting at $899. Pre-orders for the device do not seem to be available as of writing. Namely, we're expecting to see 2018 updates in the form of a new Surface Pro 5 (or 6. or numberless), a Surface Laptop 2 and a Surface Studio 2. It looks like Microsoft has officially confirmed earlier reports that claimed that the new Surface lineup will be launched in a black colour variant.

It boasts a 28 inch display that's said to be 38 percent brighter than the original Surface Studio, as well as 22 percent more contrast.

Microsoft says this version features 50 percent more graphics performance, on top of being the 'fastest Surface device ever made'.

Black Mirror lends itself to that type of idea really well, so it will be very interesting to see how they pull it off. Writers and producers are still determining how the extra demands affect their pay, among other matters.

As mentioned earlier, Microsoft is holding an event on October 2nd in NY. Also apologies for the photo quality Microsoft hasn't sent out press shots yet.

But it also announced some revamped features slated to roll out in the Windows 10 October Update. Surface Headphones make it easy to block out the world to get more done with adjustable noise cancellation, so you can focus on your task or just relax with your favorite music.

It will support phones running Android 7.0 or Google's mobile operating system.
