Broncos QB Chad Kelly arrested on trespassing charge

Chad Kelly was arrested early Tuesday morning on charges of first-degree criminal trespassing, according to National Football League insider Ian Rapoport.

The recent trespassing arrest of Chad Kelly might be more than just an embarrassing moment for the quarterback. According to the Denver Post, Kelly was taken into custody after Englewood Police Department officers were called to a home on the 3200 block of South Lincoln Street because of a man standing outside the residence.

The investigation is ongoing, police say.

According to KUSA, Kelly was not tested for drugs or alcohol on the scene, "The entry on booking records suggesting he had no alcohol in his system is a default entry".

Following his arrest, Kelly was transported to Arapahoe County Jail, where he was booked on a first-degree criminal trespassing charge and later released after posting a $2,500 bond.

At the time of Kelly's arrest, some fellow Broncos were attending a Halloween party inside the Gothic; it's unclear whether Kelly had been at the party earlier.

The plea deal requires him to cooperate with the special counsel's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. He echoed his calls for the deputy attorney general to resign in a series of tweets earlier in the day Thursday.

An autograph event with Kelly that was scheduled for Tuesday at Flatiron Crossing has been cancelled.

The male homeowner told police the doors were locked, but officers found no evidence of forced entry. "But obviously very disappointed in Chad".

Kelly attended a Halloween costume party hosted by Von Miller on Monday night that has always been a tradition for Broncos players and their significant others. We're going to look into it very, very seriously.

Kelly was selected with the final pick of the 2017 draft, which dubbed him "Mr".

On Monday, coach Vance Joseph said he'd be comfortable with Kelly at quarterback should anything happen to Keenum.

Whether Kelly's career in Denver will continue or not remains to be seen but count Broncos insider Mike Klis as one who believes he may not. He also was arrested after a bar fight in 2014, eventually pleading guilty to a misdemeanour charge of disorderly conduct.
